New Music From Vampire Weekend and Modest Mouse

Posted in Daytime by wersmusic on March 19, 2009

Last night was a fun night for WERS to be up late watching TV, because both Vampire Weekend and Modest Mouse debuted new material.

Check out Vampire Weekend’s “White Sky” w/ strings on Jimmy Fallon. The song is due to be on their upcoming album, looking to be released in the fall.

Modest Mouse will release No One’s First and You’re Next in August. It will be a new EP made up of unreleased tracks from the band’s last two albums, Good News for People Who Love Bad News and We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. “Satellite Skin” is the first single from the EP, and here they are playing it from last night’s Letterman.

King, Paul McCartney, etc.) Even so, it’s fair to say that Radiohead’s “15 Step” was a huge breath of fresh air, as was the crazy M.I.A./”Swagga Like Us” crew that came through. Made a tad more sense than this did a few years back.

In addition to the spectacle of these performances, I was psyched to see how many WERS Artists won Grammy Awards this year. Which ones, you might ask?
