Now that Elvis Perkins in Dearland has released The Doomsday EP it seems that I can’t shake the title track of the EP from my head. A great sidenote as well is that a live performance of this track is now featured on our newest WERS Presents Music For the Independent Mind, Vol. IV compilation. This morning, I found a great video of Elvis Perkins in Dearland performing “Doomsday” with special guest Bon Iver. This video was taken during their show together in Orlando, FL this past summer! April’s Album of the Month is the self-titled sophomore release from Elvis Perkins in Dearland. The follow-up to his beautiful 2007 debut release, Ash Wednesday, Elvis Perkins In Dearland features unique instrumentation, a robust horn section, and dark lyrical imagery.
