A lot of artists bring an eclectic sound to WERS, but Joy Daniels set herself apart on tonight’s Secret Spot as she peppered a soul foundation with punk, rap, jazz, and reggae. Her motto, “Joy for the People,” resonated across the airwaves with the songs “Do You Know What It’s Like,” “Crazy,” and “Leave Me Alone.”
Joy’s latest album Electric Soul Music is available now. She plans to release a new EP, Joy After the Rain, soon. Fans can see Joy Daniels and the Fresh Kids perform every Thursday night on the Boston Renaissance at West End Johnnie’s.

The Love Experiment just brought their soulful jazz to the studio for The Secret Spot. Live Music Week was at its smoothest.
On June 25, 2009, the music industry lost an icon who bridged racial and generational divides while obtaining a status like none other. Michael Jackson was an entertainer of the highest caliber.
Hour 1: The Jackson 5 Era and Influences
Before he began his explosive debut he learned his ABC’s and 123’s from the greats of Motown. He was inspired by artists like James Brown, Diana Ross and many more. He took their influence to create music that inspired millions and will continue to inspire generations to come.
Hour 2: Off The Wall, Thriller & Artists He Influenced
Where Michael Jackson was nurtured on the indelible hits of soul and R&B legends, he progressed as an artist to not only join their ranks but to inspire numerous contemporary hit makers… including his baby sister, from his distinctive vocals to his one of a kind dance moves.
Hour 3: The Rarities
Even when Michael Jackson did not top the charts, he created tracks that resonated strongly with urban music lovers. No Michael Jackson collection would be complete without these star studded collaborations.
Hour 4: The Hits
At his peak, he was inspired while inspiring those who came after him. Michael Jackson’s voice, his songs, and his dance moves will live on forever in our hearts.
We will miss him dearly, The Secret Spot wants to let you know that “You Are Not Alone”. R.I.P. Michael Jackson from WERS 88.9 Fm and The Secret Spot…
