Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings

Neo-diva Sharon Jones  and the Dap-Kings took the stage today at Newport’s main venue  before the high stone walls of Fort Adams.  WERS’s very own, Lily Jeong,  introduced the nine-piece collective out of Brooklyn. In no time, the newly roped off dance area filled with folks gettin’ down. During “Give It Back” — off the group’s latest album, I Learned the Hard Way — Jones scooted and swayed across the stage, stopping at one point to flirt and taunt a raucous man in the crowd wearing kitty-whisker face paint.
